Christi Owiye

Christi (she/her/hers) is the External Affairs Manager at Platform Women. A Miami native, Christi graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communications with a minor in Africana Studies from the University of South Florida. During her time at USF, Christi served her campus community as an executive board member of the Black Student Union and the Black Female Development Circle.

Christi joined the Platform team in the Summer of 2018 after attending Platform’s Convention. Christi became instantly bonded to the organization and its mission, and after a year of volunteering with Platform, she joined as the External Affairs Manager in Summer of 2019. Christi’s addition to the Platform team comes after her advocacy for Platform to take a larger stance in the menstrual equity conversation and the support of what would later become the Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2019, introduced by Congresswoman Meng.

Currently, Christi serves as the Digital Communications Coordinator for Vital Voices Global Partnership, a global NGO that searches the world for daring women leaders and helps them bring their vision to scale. Skilled in social media and small donor relations, Christi is passionate about lending her expertise to woman, trans, and queer, Black and POC-led organizations and using your personal story to connect to others authentically.
