In our future, uncomfortable stares will not be exchanged when a person using a wheelchair enters a room. In our future, a student with a learning disability will not be suspiciously questioned about their reasons for needing extra time on a test. In our future, businesses will not grumble about access, because they will fundamentally believe that all of their employees and customers have value. In our future, people with disabilities will be welcome and invited into all facets of our society. But this is not our present.
We extend our sincere gratitude to activists Hindley Williams and Anna Phearman for their leadership on this Debate Pack. We are also deeply thankful to National Council on Independent Living for sharing incredible guidance and resources.
