May: College Affordability

It’s cliché and overused, but knowledge is power and a mind is a terrible thing to waste, which is why higher education is so important. A college degree is a historic barrier to entry to a good paying job and access to opportunity, and the barrier to higher education needs to come down. This goes beyond tuition prices and initial enrollment numbers. Too often a door is opened for a student, but when grants, scholarships, or loans disappear, that door closes again and some people aren’t able to finish school.
